What's New at Fox Run....

Here comes the heat but that's not stopping us from welcoming our two newest boarders, Ann Cleek and her SB horse, Mel.  Ann and Mel are enjoying the Gretchen lessons and especially Gretchen's help with Mel on the trails!! Also welcome to Fallon Segarra, DVM, and her Warmblood Cozy who was shipped from CA in late June. Cozy is adjusting well and the pair is enjoying hacking all over the property getting in shape:-)  Happy to have you both!

Happy Start of Summer 2017!!
We are getting some wonderful Spring to Summer weather now which provides loads of riding opportunities. Now that our beautiful hay is being cut, we will soon be back to galloping the fields and trails!
This Spring we unfortunately had to say good-bye to two of our faithful equine friends ~ Marvin and Mae.  We will miss you both terribly but hope to keep in touch with Erin and Kaitlyn regularly.   We also said good-bye and good luck to three college graduates ~ Gigi (Holly), Sijae (Archie), and Laura (Classy) ~ Congratulations and good luck with all your new exciting adventures!!

Happy New Year - 2017 -
Please forgive the delays in updating.....

We look forward to hosting some exciting fun events at Fox Run this new year.  Stay tuned (via our Calendar Page) for upcoming activities such as a Natural Horsemanship Clinic, bringing back a dressage schooling show from the past - the White Box Fox Run Fun Show, another (surprise!) smaller Greg Best SJ Clinic, and hopefully some of the ole' favorites such as the CDCTA Spring Dressage Show, cross country schoolings, and the Haunted Hunter Pace....AND in early December, we will definitely try to hold that Barn Holiday Party we all missed due to the surprise ice storm!

Kudos to Kate Bowdle, who was a fantastic barn keeper this past year!  She just graduated from MU in Dec. and has acquired an internship in Md. with Select Breeding Services starting in Feb. We will all (Ebony too!) miss Kate around the barn but wish her the very best of luck in her new endeavors!

We appreciate our Barn Keepers ~

Ginny Tharpe has been with us for a little more than a year now and has become quite comfortable with all of us, equine, canine or human! She always has a smile and hand to give.
Grace Brown, a Freshman at Hickman, works a couple of weekends a month and now owns her own horse which she keeps on Route E, right across from her home!
Sarah Barnes is a busy vet student who also works weekends and we sure appreciate all her knowledge and ease around the horses!
Lauren Reed can also be found around the barn on weekends as well as some weeknights.  Lauren competes her Arabian horse often back home near Chicago so she comes with a lot of experience as well.
Savannah Millburn is our newest keeper and is an Animal Science major with lots of farm and sheep experience!

A warm welcome, albeit a bit late, to our newest boarders ~
Carissa Norquest and her Appendix QH mare, Banshee, joined us from Auburn.  Carissa is a new small animal veterinarian at MU where she stays very busy but still manages to ride her mare who is always ready to go on a trail ride, over some xc jumps, or even demo at the Stable Tour.  Thanks Carissa and Banshee!
Nicole Clarkson is back with a leased horse, Heartbreak, who is a beautiful TB mare Nicole has already competed locally, joined in both lesson groups, and tackled our trails! She hopes to do a lot more eventing and we wish them luck together!
Kaitlyn Richardson, a former barn keeper, also brought her TB mare, Mae, here last summer.  While Kaitlyn is very busy with school and travel, Mae seems to be very content and enjoying her time out with her mare buddies.
Shelby McCoy and her easy going, sweet QH Sonny, came to us last Spring.  Shelby has taken a job traveling with an Anheuser Busch Clydesdale rig so she doesn't get to visit Sonny too often but she and Sonny both appreciate her Mom's visits and all the attention and excellent care he gets here at Fox Run!

What a FANTASTIC barn crew we have at Fox Run!!
I just want to throw a BIG Thank You to our wonderful barn and farm keepers at Fox Run...... Joe and his endless skills and talents we keep discovering;  Zac and his faithful dedication, punctuality, and tenacity;  Marissa with her endless patience with both horses and people;  Casie and her constant smile and pleasant demeanor; And Laura with all her cooperative flexibility. We all appreciate each of you!

We are looking forward to welcoming our newest boarders in March '15~ Casie's Quarter Horse, Harley, and Dee's OTTB, Heat.  Welcome Home gals and geldings!

Excited to report ~ Fox Run just ordered a brand new 20 x 60m Dressage Arena!!! Happy 10th Anniversary to Fox Run! It should arrive by late March '15.

Congrats to all our boarders who successfully participated in the CDCTA Spring Dressage Schooling Show on April 6 ~  Lauren, Kaylee, Karin, Lora.  And thanks to all who volunteered, showed, and made it such a fun and easy day!

A big warm welcome to Chloe and her lovely horse, Ted, who moved in April 13th.  And long time boarder, Lauren, has a new chestnut TB named Parker!!

Also be sure to meet our newest Barn/Horse Keeper, Marissa ~ Welcome aboard!

Greg Best SJ Clinic entry forms went out!! Lora must receive hard copies with deposit.

Once again the August 2014 Greg Best clinic was a huge success!  His talents as an instructor never cease to amaze us.  Boarders who participated were ~ Kaylee, Chloe, Lauren, Mackie, Laura

What a super fun CDCTA and Fox Run sponsored "Educational Meeting" we had on June 13th!  We all benefitted from the Boone County Fire Department's demonstrations and then enjoyed a nice cookout and even a Full Moon Ride!  Thanks to all for coming, let's do it again soon!

We all enjoyed our first and second White Box Fox Run Fun dressage schooling shows in June and July. Thanks to all for your help - Karen, Bailey, Cindy, Deb, Paulette, Mackie, Mark.....  We'll try it once more on Sunday, September 28 ! Hope to see you all come school in that White Box again!

A warm welcome goes out to a few new faces at
Fox Run...
Gigi and her horse, Holly, come to us from Minnesota. Gigi is a Freshman at Stephens College.  I've heard Gigi loves Fox Run ~ must be true as she has never been seen without a big smile on her face!

Joe Kohlhaas has been very busy since he arrived in early August and began working with Mark and Zac.  Be sure to grab him and introduce yourself if you haven't already.  Joe will eventually replace Mark as our Property and Facility Caretaker!  Of course, we will all greatly miss Mark who will move in mid-October to be with his family in lovely Wyoming.
